Dancers aged 45-75 performed at LUTSF live music, dance and supper event at Kilmington Village Hall, nr Axminster, Devon on Saturday 27 June 2009. The evening was further enlivened by a talk and performance by Chris Benstead.

A new chairperson for LUTSF
IAnna Carlisle, MBE, has recently accepted the role of Chair of LUTSF and is delighted by the prospect of leading the Fund forward at this exciting time. She will succeed BJ Lewis during the summer of 2009 and will introduce herself to us in the next newsletter. Members of the LUTSF Management Committee feel that the Fund is fortunate to have attracted someone with Anna’s experience of dance and we are delighted that in our new chair we have someone who is grounded in Laban’s work, who took classes with Lisa Ullmann, and whose own work in dance is held in high regard.
LUTSF has been exceptionally fortunate to have had the leadership of BJ over the last fourteen years. During this period the Fund has developed from small beginnings to take its place as a significant provider of scholarships to individuals working in dance and movement. The financial position has been stabilized and procedures have been developed to attract applicants of appropriate calibre. BJ’s vision has led to the implementation of several IT developments, and she has applied her own considerable computing skills to the efficient day-to-day management of the Fund. Her leadership has enabled the management committee to function efficiently 
and she has chaired meetings with a sense of humour, warmth and with diplomacy. At different times during the fourteen years she has taken on responsibilities in addition to those of Chair when other committee members have needed support because of their own work commitments. In 2008 LUTSF celebrated 21 years of awarding scholarships and the success of the latter years owes much to the work and dedication of its Chair.
We extend our thanks to her for excellent leadership and commitment, and we are delighted to announce that we may not be losing her valued expertise. BJ has agreed to stand for election as Treasurer for the Fund in a forthcoming election
